The policy shall pay the Principal Sum when injuries results in loss of life within 180 days from date of accident.

The policy shall pay the Principal Sum when injuries results in Total Permanent Disability within 180 days from the date of the accident.

The policy shall pay the Principal Sum when injuries result in dismemberment or disablement within 180 days from the date of the accident. Note: This is subject to schedule of benefits relative to extent of injury.

The policy will pay the actual and eligible expenses for hospital, surgical, nursing and other medical services or supplies required for treatment of injuries covered by the policy.

Insurance details:


In the event an emergency situation occurs and you are in imminent danger while traveling in the country, the Company shall organize and arrange for non-medical emergency evacuation utilizing the means best suited for the situation up to the benefit amount as stated in the Policy Schedule.


Evacuation must occur within 7 days of any Political Event or Natural Disaster and will be to the nearest place of safety. Where an evacuation is not practical due to hostile or dangerous conditions, the Company will remain in contact with the Insured until a secure evacuation is viable.


The benefit only covers cost of evacuation.The means of evacuation arranged by the Company or its authorized representative, may include air, ground, railroad or any other appropriate means. All decisions as to the means of transportation and the final destination will be made by the Company or its authorized representative, and will be based solely upon necessity.

MYEG Insurance details:


In the event that the Insured is prohibited by the Philippine Government to stay in the country, travel and legal assistance to return to his/her home country will be arranged by the Company up to the benefit stated in the Policy Schedule.


This benefit is limited to One-way economy airfare ticket to the Insured’s home country.

If during the effectivity of this Policy, as a result of Bodily Injury, and if in the opinion of the Company Doctor in consultation with the local Attending Physician it is determined that the current medical facility is inadequate, the Company, or its authorized representative shall organize and arrange for medical evacuation of the member to the nearest adequate medical facility.

The Emergency Medical Evacuation will be covered up to the Benefit Amount as stated in the Insurance Policy Schedule. The means of evacuation arranged by the Company, or its authorized representative, may include air ambulance, ground ambulance, regular air transportation, railroad or any other appropriate means.

All decisions as to the means of transportation and the final destination will be made by the Company or its authorized representative, and will be based solely upon medical necessity.

MYEG Insurance details:

If during the effectivity of this Policy, as a result of Bodily Injury and if in the opinion of the Company Doctor in consultation with the local Attending Physician it is determined that following stabilization of the medical condition, treatment should continue at a medical facility closest to the member’s place of residence, the Company, or its authorized representative shall organize and arrange for the (non-stretcher, non-oxygen requiring) repatriation of the member.

The Emergency Medical Repatriation will be covered up to the Benefit Amount as stated in the Policy Schedule. The means of evacuation arranged by the Company, or its authorized representative, may include air ambulance, ground ambulance, regular air transportation, railroad or any other appropriate means.

All decisions as to the means of transportation and the final destination will be made by the Company or its authorized representative, and will be based solely upon medical necessity.

MYEG Insurance details:

If, during the effectivity of this Policy and as a result of Bodily Injury, the Insured dies, the Company or its authorized representative, shall make the necessary arrangements for the return of the Insured’s mortal remains to his place of residence.

The Repatriation of Mortal Remains will be covered up to the Benefit Amount as stated in the Policy Schedule including but not limited to: cost of embalming, appropriate container for transportation, and shipping costs to transport your remains via the most direct and economical route to your home country.

All decisions as to the means of transportation will be made by the Company or its authorized representative, and will be based solely upon necessity.

General Exclusions
General Exclusions

WE WILL NOT PAY UNDER ANY SECTION OF THIS POLICY FOR THE LOSS OR LIABILITY DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY ARISING AS A RESULT OF:

  1. 1. Any injury or illness related to conditions deemed not covered by the Expat Security & Disaster Protection Program of Mercantile Insurance and Malayan Insurance will not be covered by this policy as well.
  2. 2. Any Pre-Existing Medical Condition, including congenital conditions.
  3. 3. Travelling against medical advice or where the trip is made for the purpose of obtaining medical treatment, experimental or investigative procedures;
  4. 4. Pregnancy, childbirth, abortion, miscarriage and any Injury or Illness related to such conditions.
  5. 5. Sexually transmitted infections, AIDS, HIV infections and AIDS related infections.
  6. 6. Suicide or attempted suicide, intentional self-injury; mental and nervous disorders including insanity. Treatment arising from any geriatric, psycho-geriatric or psychiatric condition, stress, anxiety and depression, psychoanalytic treatment, stays in rest homes, physiotherapy and detoxification, care provided by a chiropractor or osteopath;
  7. 7. Willful, malicious or unlawful acts such as taking part in a brawl or taking part in inciting a brawl;
  8. 8. Action of the Insured while under the influence of alcohol, addictive drugs, narcotic drugs to the extent of being unable to control one’s mind. The term “under the influence of alcohol” means that the Insured’s blood/alcohol level was equal to or superior to that fixed by the law/s regulating the use of automobiles, based on the results of a blood test;
  9. 9. Action taken by any government authority including confiscation, seizure, destruction and restriction (except for Deportation due to Persona Non Grata).
  10. 10. Taking part in flying or other aerial activities except as a fare-paying passenger in a licensed passenger-carrying aircraft. This exclusion does not apply to any leisure hot air balloon ride, leisure parachuting, leisure sky-diving, leisure bungee jumping and leisure snow/ice sports.
  11. 11. Any sports that are played in a professional capacity or in competition involving prize money, donations, sponsorship or reward of any kind.
  12. 12. Participation in the following activities:
    1. a. Extreme Sports. This exclusion does not apply to any of the following leisure activities - parachuting, sky diving, bungee jumping, rock climbing, hang-gliding, non-competitive winter sports.
    2. b. Motorcycling unless You hold a valid motorcycle license recognized by the Philippines and provided that You wear a helmet at all times whilst motorcycling and abide by all applicable road laws of the country.
    3. c. Mountaineering that entails the use of specific climbing equipment and ropes.
    4. d. Hiking or trekking above three thousand five hundred (3,500) meters sea level.
    5. e. Expedition to generally inaccessible and remote areas of a country or areas previously unexplored.
  13. 13. Participation in underwater activities which require the use of artificial breathing apparatus. This exclusion does not apply to leisure scuba diving where You are diving no deeper than thirty (30) meters under the supervision of a qualified diving instructor; or You hold a PADI certification (or equivalent qualification) and You are diving with a buddy who holds a PADI certification (or equivalent qualification).
  14. 14. Any Injury which arises in the course of Your occupation if Your occupation falls within the following categories or involves the following activities:
    1. a. Full time military, air force and navy personnel, police and civil defense personnel (other than serving in the Philippines full-time or reservist training);
    2. b. Air crew, ship crew, motor racer, entertainer, armed security guard;
    3. c. Manual worker regardless of whether any machinery or tools are used including but not limited to construction worker and kitchen help;
    4. d. Off-shore rig worker, diver, firefighter, fisherman;
    5. e. Working onboard sea vessel or aircraft e.g. air crew, ship crew, shipyard worker;
    6. f. Working at heights above thirty (30) feet including but not limited to roofing activities, on the scaffolding or gondola;
    7. g. Underground worker, in tunnel or quarry;
    8. h. Any Occupation dealing with explosives or hazardous substances.
  15. 15. Travelling to an area where the Philippine government advised against non-essential travel relating to any war or warlike event, Strike, Riot or Civil Commotion, disease outbreak or unsafe health conditions, impending Natural Disaster or any other events of similar nature.
  16. 16. Direct participation in any terrorist acts.
  17. 17. Ionizing radiations, or contamination by radioactivity from any irradiated nuclear fuel, or from any nuclear waste from the combustion of nuclear fuel; Radioactive toxic explosive or other hazardous properties of any explosive nuclear assembly or of its nuclear component.
  18. 18. Any expenses for a service not approved and arranged by the Company, or its authorized representative, except that the Company reserves the right to waive this exclusion in the event the Insured or his traveling companions cannot for reasons beyond their control notify the Company, or its authorized representative, during an emergency medical situation. In any event, The Company reserves the right to reimburse the Insured only for those expenses incurred for services which the Company, or its authorized representative, would have provided under the same circumstances and up to the limits indicated in the Policy Schedule.

Additional Exclusions for the Natural Disaster and Political Evacuation Benefit:

  1. 1. We will not pay for evacuation when you travel to an area where the Philippine government has advised against non-essential travel relating to any war or warlike event, Strike, Riot or Civil Commotion, disease outbreak or unsafe health conditions, impending Natural Disaster or any other events of similar nature.
  2. 2. We will not pay for evacuation once notice of evacuation has been issued or posted by the government for a period of more than 7 days and you have failed to notify the Company regarding your need to be evacuated.
  3. 3. We will not pay for transportation and accommodation costs while located in at a safe haven.
  4. 4. The policy excludes remote rescue, security extraction; security escorts and similar services.

Provides up to PHP 10,000,000.00 or USD 200,000.00 coverage and resources to assist Expats outside of their home country. This cover will respond to crisis situations occurring from political unrest, personal threats and armed conflict.


NATURAL DISASTER EVACUATION

Provides coverage and resources of up to PHP 10,000,000.00 or USD 200,000.00 should a natural disaster/ peril make the Philippines uninhabitable and/or creates direct impact to an expat‘s safety.


MEDICAL EVACUATION

Provides health insurance coverage and resources of up to PHP 10,000,000.00 or USD 200,000.00 in the event that the Expat suffers a medical emergency and requires transportation.
